Ambient an Co was approached by Xbox to come up with an Event concept for the launch of their new FY20 game.
Early 2020 Xbox be releasing Ori and the Will of the Wisps – one of our blockbuster titles in our FY20 games slate. As you’ll see from the trailers we’ve released so far (here and here) and the images below, it’s a graphically beautiful game and the first instalment in the franchise was critically acclaimed.
It’s a family friendly game, with the first instalment rated a G in Australia and 7+ by PEGI.
At the centre of the story is something called the Spirit Tree (have a read of that link and see pictures below). In the game the tree is tasked with maintaining the balance of the Elements of Light. We’re looking at potentially recreating this distinctive tree design in real life. In terms of a description:
“The Spirit Tree, as his name implies, takes the form of a gigantic tree that sits at the center of Nibel (the location in the game). His branches are lined with glowing blue leaves that eventually form the Spirit Guardians as his 'children'. In the center of his sprawling size sits the font of his power, Sein. The Spirit Tree possesses a sentience and a will, a care to protect and nurture the Spirit Guardians he brings forth as well as the entirety of Nibel”
This would see us bring the giant structure to the masses in a completely interactive and socially-led way. We’re looking to work with a light installation company to create an interactive, luminescent representation of the tree in an accessible and busy location, such as The Grounds of Alexandria or Botanical Gardens in Sydney.
